So go ahead to iTunes-Account-Family Purchases (at first this might show up as Transfer Purchases), found the app in Family library under the respective family member and click the little iCloud icon on the top right corner of the app. When searching for this app in App store, it doesn't recognize as owned and wants you to purchase it. ![]() Where it became tricky, was with an app that was a family purchase I downloaded from family member's purchased (for certain amount) apps. This will remove the gray apps from your phone and install the new versions properly. App will start Downloading and it will appear in your Library, where you can click Install on each of them which will change their status to "will install" once iTunes syncs. Go to App store and one by one search/find the apps that are grayed out/waiting on your phone and then click Get.
